Comic Relief comes to the rescue

The youth centre has been awarded a substantial grant from Scottish Community Foundation (Comic Relief) to extend the centre's sports provision for local children aged 5-7yrs. In conjunction with similar grants awarded by, Bank of Scotland Foundation and The Gannochy Trust, we can now increase the out of school provision for sports and energetic exercise activities, from three days to five, with sessions being held every day. Children attending will now be offered the possibility to enjoy sporting and healthy lifestyle sessions for 7.5 hours per week. The success of our previous sports projects, aimed at 5-10 year olds, has been keenly supported by a number of trusts since 2007, and the unique evaluation reports submitted to funders after each project, which have included video footage of the children at play and visual interviews with grateful parents/carers has certainly been widely acclaimed. We are currently investigating ways and means to embed these evaluations on to the youth centre website for all interested parties to view. Once we have overcome the technical issues we will announce via the blog when the data can be viewed online.
