Back to Normal!

As the schools will try and get back to normal this week, the youth centre will also endeavour to resume its childrens and youth provision. Our main concern is the underfoot conditions when entering and accessing the building. There is a huge amount of snow and ice blocking the main access areas and staff will spend Monday trying to shift the snow and ensure pathways are safe. The youth centre is not a council managed or owned building, and we are not in a position to request rock salt or grit from the local authority. Adult groups who used the centre from Thursday to Sunday were informed of the situation, and the groups who decided to use the centre, only did so at their own risk. The situation for playgroup, children's and youth groups, will be assessed daily, and decisions taken on whether to open for sessions will be based on ongoing weather conditions, and safety. Junior and Youth clubs, facilitated by the Pilmeny Development Project: Decision will be made by the PDP staff and junior and youth club members should contact the PDP office.
