Arctic Conditions

The weekend snowfall has wiped out any chance of local schools being open today. Early morning news from the local authority quickly confirmed that all Edinburgh and Leith schools would be closed. We could hear the cheers from children and young people as this news was relayed. The youth centre will do all it can to supply a service this evening for our regular young peoples drop-in. However, due to staff availability and with the approaches to the youth centre, both roads and pavements, are proving difficult to use and any decisions to close be will be taken purely on staff cover and aspects of safety. A decision will be taken in mid afternoon after consultations with staff. In the event of any further deterioration in weather conditions decision will be taken on a daily basis. The youth centre will be open for administration purposes regardless of any decisions taken
